MOST RECENT EVENT REPORT IN FULL....
KISM's mandate and vision is to develop the Supply Chain Management profession in Kenya for all practitioners working in Kenya. KISM will therefore seek to work with all stakeholders in this broad objective including but not limited to those who train and prepare students and working practitioners wishing to advance their supply chain skills (both students and training institutes) in Kenya; practising professionals irrespective of where they were trained (in Kenya, CIPS, US e.t.c.); individual professionals and professional associations in other fields who have a working interest in the growth and development of the supply chain profession here in Kenya (e.g. KEBS, ICPAK, KBA); Supplies Professional bodies worldwide who are interested in the emergence and development of a holistic and representative Kenyan-based body that caters for welfare of all stakeholders in the supply chain industry in Kenya.
The new board of KISM resolved at its board meeting of 5th of July2002, to work with KIPSM management if it is agreeable to them, to evolve modalities of addressing the enormous challenges impeding the development of the supply chain profession here in Kenya. KISM will endeavour to make this happen so that a unified approach is developed to avoid confusing the stakeholders and have the best possible chance of eliminating the challenges that the supplies profession currently faces.
